MIDA Film Maker Plan Makes an Impressive Debut

Morning of June 8th, the MIDA Film MakerPlan Masters Class continues its second day with an impressive list of internationally renowned guests. Fujioka Asako from Japan’s YIDFF, Ally Derks of the Amsterdam IDFA, and Chris McDonald from the Canadian Toronto Documentary Film Festival are to speak at today’s Masters Class. This impressive group of international guests will conduct an exciting lecture on documentary films to enthusiasts of documentary films.

“MIDA Film Maker Plan” First Day of The Masters Class

June 7th, 2010 this afternoon three sessions of the Masters Class from MIDA Film Maker Plan started according to schedule. Famous documentary director Kang Jianning, Cue Xiaohui, and Wang Xiaolong were the guest speakers and spoke to a packed room at the 9th floor Sun Room.

MIDA Filmmaker Plan Opening Ceremony Successfully Held

The opening ceremony of MIDA Filmmaker Plan was held successfully on 9:30 a.m. 7th June, 2010. Attend the opening ceremony are Christine Choy, Documentary Director and Producer; Peng Xiaolian, Documentary and Movie Director, Writer; Wang Xiaolong, Documentary and Movie Director; Liu Binsen, Senior Magazine & Media Profession; Alley Derks, Ally Derks, President of IDFA (Holland); Chris McDonald, Executive Director of Hot Docs (Canada); Grit Lemke, Vice President of DOK Leipzig (Germany); Alex Lee & Dan Shanan, President of Documentary Edge Festival (New Zealand) and Fujioka Asako, representative from YIDFF(Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival, Japan).

MIDA Filmmaker Plan announces 22 shortlist proposals

MIDA Filmmaker Plan announces 22 shortlist proposals from a total number of 238 proposals on 8th May. MIDA Filmmaker plan initialed the annual proposal recruitment since 10th,March. The theme of 2010 Filmmaker Plan is "The Asian Era". Filmmaker Plan wishes to invite new directors to create the "Asian Dream" together. By the end of 1st May, MIDA has received proposals which cover a wide range of topics such as history, economy, culture, human race, the female sex, education, environment protection, science and technology.
