Vision – Asian era
As the WORLDS manufacturing powerhouse for the next 50 years Asia is one of the largest centers of capital, technology and culture in the world. Yet Asia has yet to form its own worldview and discourse on this topic. This silent voice will become a cause of misunderstanding and a new wave of cultural clashes.
Asia needs to be recognized from its own perspective and to transmit this to the outside world in order to dispel and prevent possible cultural misunderstandings through the faithful lens of documentaries and native interpretation. This will piece together the shattered pieces of Asian cultures and refocus what was once the heart of Asian culture and let the world see a clear and complete image of a new Asia.
The future of the world is the Asian era
Asia is changing so fast that every second is precious
She leads the world in economic development yet is plagued by poverty. She embraces contemporary culture with open arms yet is constrained by ancient customs. She possesses the hardest working and peaceful of peoples yet is troubled by the shadows of war and schisms. And her ambitions and sacrifices are forging the greatest most profound of dreams in this Asia's hour.
MIDA does not create dreams, MIDA records every second of that journey.
MIDA preserves contemporary Asian history with a unique honesty, and generosity.
Mission—international communication of Asian perspectives
The"Asian Century"is upon us, and the various conjectures on Asia by the West along with dreams that Asians have for themselves converged into a single question: what is Asia's future?
We strongly believe that all societal changes come from countless dreams, struggles and sacrifices. And to record these real changes in Asia by Asians is the conceptual goal of MIDA fund.
MIDA fund is dedicated in the aid of developing the growth of Asian documentary films. Its goal is to become the premier fund for documentaries in Asia, to provide long-term capital investment in documentary directors and writers in the Asian region, as well as providing the platform and channels that support it. It will work tirelessly to transmit Asian films to the international stage.
