It is confirmed that documentary The Bund will open MIDA on 7th June 2010 in UME Cineplex. The creative team of The Bund will also present the world premier.
Presented by SMG and MIDA, The Bund was directed by Zhou Bing, director of The Forbidden City and team from Documentary Channel, SMG. The production started from August 2009 and took 10 months to finish the project.
The Bund is picked by MIDA 2010 as its open documentary because not only is the Bund the symbol of Shanghai, it also represents the modern history of China. The Bund is the first documentary that depicts the past 100-year-history of the Bund and records the most significant turning points of Shanghai history. The Bund reflects the history as well as meets the world’s need and curiosity to know more about Shanghai during Shanghai Expo 2010.
Talking of the understanding of the Bund, Zhou Bing, director of The Bund said, "The Bund is the footnote of Shanghai as it contains the past 100-year history of Shanghai and China with a rather limited area. The Bund is a fable filled with colorful dreams because The Bund connects China to the whole world."
